Recent Activites: Ms. Shapiro has represented the Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association (OOIDA) in class action lawsuits and assisted in the management of OOIDA's motor carrier insurance program. Most recently, she prepared and filed comments in several administrative rulemakings and inquiries, concerning the ground and air transportation industries, and prosecuted a series a lawsuits based on breach of contracting regulations. She also succesfully persuaded a government agency to reverse an adverse security clearance determination.
Ms. Shapiro is a skilled and experienced litigator who has represented transportation industry clients, including motor carriers and their trade associations, rate bureaus, shippers, passenger and cargo airlines, airport authorities, and government contractors and their employees in litigation and regulatory matters. She has prosecuted and defended client interests in commercial and administrative litigation before federal and state agencies and federal and state trial and appellate courts. She has also prepared comments for government rulemaking proceedings and routine and extraordinary agency filings.
